The Media Access Application for Dragon*Con 2012 is now online. Every year Dragon*Con gets bigger and more amazing, and every year more reporters apply to cover Dragon*Con. Because of our growth, Dragon*Con has needed to reconsider the qualifications for reporting at Dragon*Con and adjust the approval process. Not everyone who applies will be provided access.
As you are preparing to apply, please consider our qualification guidelines:
- Media Access is for professional reporters and media that provides a significant national, local, or genre exposure.
- If you have covered Dragon*Con in 2011, ensure you have provided copies of the coverage to media relations.
- Your application will be thoroughly vetted, and it is likely you will be contacted to discuss the nature of your coverage.
- If you represent a significant voice in a particular genre of fandom (GateWorld, Dragonmount, etc), we will check with the appropriate track director on your impact in your genre/fandom
You will not qualify for Media Access if you are:
- Bloggers or Podcasters with limited distribution
- Individuals who work in non-reporting roles for media outlets
- Convention photographers not on assignment from a media outlet
- An individual who had been granted media access who cannot provide proof of coverage
- For more information see the Qualifications for credentials
