Dragon Con turns 30 this year! With over 70,000 attendees, the conference has grown into a spectacular destination for all. Dragon Con offers more than exciting people watching, guest stars, and fascinating panels, there are a variety of events and locations occurring throughout the con.

Dragon Con Parade

This year marks not only the 30th anniversary of Dragon Con, it’s also the 15th Dragon Con Parade! On the Saturday of every Dragon Con, Atlanta comes out to watch the Dragon Con Parade. Led by the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, the parade features all the best cosplay and themed vehicles. Word has it that this year will have some surprises. The parade will be on September 3 at 10:00 a.m. on Peachtree Street!

Comic and Pop Art Alley

Housed in Americas Mart, the Comics and Pop Art Alley welcomes fan for an enormous exhibit featuring incredibly talented writers, illustrators, and artisans who will be offering original art, limited prints, comics, books, sketches, and exclusives. In addition, the Atlanta Comic Art Collectors will be featuring an amazing exhibit of original works from comics’ greatest illustrators.

Art Show and Print Shop

Hosting over 125 artists with 25,000 plus pieces of original art and prints, the Art Show has something for everyone. Priced for every budget, the Art Show includes an artist bazaar, an artist gallery, a print shop, yearly themed exhibits, and more. It’s the largest juried Art Show in the fandom, with a portion for fan favorites where attendees can vote on their favorite works. Also, the Art Show offers programming from how to run your own business to how to craft jewelry.

Dragon Con Independent Short Film Festival

Since the beginning, Dragon Con has offered a four-day independent film festival highlighting several short and feature films of a variety of genres. Many films are exclusive to Dragon Con and the writers, directors, producers, and actors will be on hand to discuss their work after the film. Films are screened in themed blocks of time including horror, comedy, fan films, steampunk, animation, and late night zombie shorts.
