Dragon Con 2019 welcomes Shazam stars Zacharie Levi and Angel Asher!  This break away DC comics hit movie from Warner Brothers did remarkably well at the box office and in the hearts of fans around the world.  Dragon Con is very excited to have both Billy Batson and Shazam joining us in Atlanta this year.

Levi recently starred in SHAZAM! for Warner Brothers. Before that, Levi was best known for his fan favorite performance as Chuck Bartowski in the hit NBC series, Chuck.  Other previous TV credits include: the Netflix mini-series Alias Grace & Heroes Reborn. Levi started his own company, The Nerd Machine in 2010 building a geek culture brand that fosters greater interaction between fans and celebrities, while also giving back. Nerd HQ, the live event and philanthropic division of the geek culture company, hosts celebrity panels where proceeds go to Operation Smile, a non-profit organization that Levi serves as an ambassador for that is dedicated to raising money to provide surgical care for children suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate.

Asher Angel became interested in acting at the age of five, and appeared in the 2008 film Jolene. At the age of seven, Desert Stages Theatre held auditions for musical Oliver and Angel auditioned and won a role in the production. His mother promised to take him to Los Angeles if he “put in the work and [did] 30 [local] shows”, and he went on to act in multiple plays including The Little Mermaid, Seussical, Mary Poppins, and Into the Woods at the Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale. His mother kept her promise, and Angel traveled to Los Angeles where, at age 12, he auditioned for and won the part of Jonah Beck in the Disney Channel television series Andi Mack. His whole family moved to Utah to accommodate filming for the series.

Angel recently starred as the lead role of Billy Batson, with Zachary Levi playing his adult superhero alter-ego, in the film adaptation of DC Comics’ Shazam!, which is a further installment to the DC Extended Universe.
